I am advocating a new type of OTEC plant
to be build off the coast of Peru for recycling of
CO2 into methanol.

The basic idea is a Rankine cycle using Ammonia
for conversion of temperature difference of
sea water as per an OTEC style ocean plant.
This a hybrid system that uses mechanical pumps that
operate from current motion on the ocean floor.
The energy coming from the Humboldt (Peru) Current.
Peru is on the equator (warm) but the Humboldt Current
is sweeping up from Antartica (very cold).

So between the temperature difference thermal energy
and the Humboldt current mechanical energy,
ocean energy can be had there for next to nothing.
Taking energy out of the oceans causes global cooling.

The product of the plant is hydrogen (and oxygen)
generated from the electricity produced by turbines
H2 is then reacted with recycled CO2 from coal plants
thus further reducing global warming by recycling CO2.
CO2 recycling credits will pay for the shipping costs.
Then the methane is converted into methanol,
which can become the new gasoline of the future.
Methanol is a great fuel, much better than gasoline,
is easy to store and has a low carbon density.
