Site Manager..... Construction Manager...... Project Manager (more exp required).

Lots of money in the field. Depends on what you want to do with it. Get the right experience and you could be working on major gov projects, housing developments, commercial developments etc. Eventually Project Manager is probably where you want to be....

I know Project Managers who make $200-300,000/project--these are very good guys, very experienced. Site managers make less-my experience is only with heavily industrialized projects, so my averages are skewed towards PMs who have engineering degrees or a lot of engineering experience.

If you get a associates degree in construction management, you may want to look at combining it with something else. Whether that be engineer side or business. There are individual courses you can take that will help you enhance your resume as well-especially for this field. Courses in OHSA or P&L management...list goes on 'n on. Check with your college, counselors will be a lot of help... Good Luck!

If your goal is to be a licensed architect then you should spend your time and money to get a bachelor degree in Architecture first and not fooling yourself in construction management.
If your goal is at financial return, then don't be a licensed architect.
I think your problem is you really don't known what you want do with your life.

Usually you start out in costing, supply management or related areas. He should also investigate apprenticeship programs, as they ultimately pay much higher (although they involve more manual labor). Depends where you live and what the industry in the area is paying, but I would think $30,000 to start.

If I'm not mistaken, the Washington University (St Luis, Missouri) used to have one of the best BS curriculum in Construction management; check it.

Also, since you already have a BS degree, I don't thing that you would save any considerable time by working on an associate rather on a second BS.

In addition to receiving typical benefits, many salaried construction managers earn bonuses and are allowed the use of company motor vehicles.

According to a July 2009 salary survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, people with a bachelor's degree in construction science or construction management received job offers averaging $53,199 a year.

Median annual wages of salaried construction managers in May 2008 were $79,860. The middle 50 percent earned between $60,650 and $107,140. The lowest paid 10 percent earned less than $47,000, and the highest paid 10 percent earned more than $145,920. Median annual wages in the industries employing the largest numbers of construction managers were as follows:

For construction manager jobs, a bachelor's degree in construction science, construction management, building science, or civil engineering, plus work experience, is becoming the norm. Practical construction experience is very important for entering this occupation, whether earned through an internship, a cooperative education program, a job in the construction trades, or another job in the industry.
