Sources Of Alternative Energy

Ross Said:

what percentage of a country's budget is dedicated to developing alternative energy sources?

We Answered:

Yes. Because the companies which supply us with energy have a lot of us employed. This makes for a difficult process. Plus there are myriads of companies which are in the chain to supply energy. It is hard to shift that many people instantly. It is being done slowly now. When the alternate ideas are spread more, more people who are in the current energy supply companies change over and they make money. There will be a snowball effect and everyone will jump in. I seen this take place in our economy beginning in 1959. I started working at a company that made lawnmower ,snow blower gas engines. When I started we built 800 engines a day ,10 years later later we were building 12,000 engines a day. to run almost anything power. The engine started in the machine shop where it was machined to specs,in 60 minutes it had gas in the engine running in the test bed. In 1 hour it was packed and in the truck. Now most of this is made in China, etc We now produce the major supply of solar panels in the world and ship 80 % out to the world. We need more engineers, Smart people who refuse to give up producing alternate energy ! We must Sell more to other countries. We can do it when we have the right people ready!

Michelle Said:

How would you convince the US government to fully support and invest in alternative sources of energy?

We Answered:

It shouldn't be the government that does this. I am an Economics major, and spent a semester studying Environmental Economics. The solution can, will, and should come from the private sector. There are many companies out there researching alternate sources of energy, and when it becomes more economical to use these new advances in technology, the market will use them. Right now it is too cost prohibitive to use alternate forms of energy, but as other resources become more scarce, the price of them will go up, and we as a society will use alternate forms of energy, all without having to get the government involved.

Ray Said:

Why are we stil using oil, when we could be using all the alternative energy sources from the Clinton years?

We Answered:

What "sources" are you referring to?

Herbert Said:

What is the best alternative energy sources?

We Answered:

i thing solar or wind is the best choice....their maintenance cost is little high but they both are unpolluted

Cathy Said:

What is the purpose of looking into alternative energy sources?

We Answered:

Currently most of the energy that we use has a side effect of pouring CO2 into our atmosphere which is probably contributing to global warming. We would like to find energy that doesn't do this.

We can use nuclear energy but that also has waste harmful to humans that is tricky to deal with.

It would be nice to get away from them by using solar or something similar.

Emily Said:

Is the "Spill Baby Spill" a Wake-up call for alternative Energy sources?

We Answered:

Right wing extremists complain it cost too much. How much is this spill gonna cost?

We need alternative energy now! Not later and certainly we should not listen to the criminal-loving right wing.

Roger Said:

What is the percentage of alternative energy sources in your country?

We Answered:

On the order of 1% in the U.S. In some states, like California and Texas it is higher, but still less than 5%. I am not counting hydroelectric power in that because it is a traditional source, although totally renewable.

According to the source below, Denmark gets almost 20% of its electricity from wind.
