Renewable Alternative Energy

Helen Said:

What is Alternative/Renewable Energy and why is there a need for it?

We Answered:

solar pannels water stuff theres loads and the reason we need it is because are resouces are runnign out

Jamie Said:

Should we invest in renewable energy and alternative fuels?

We Answered:

Yes, we need to make a significant investment in alternatives to fossil fuels.

Walter Said:

Do you think that the United States should invest in one/several renewable, alternative energy sources?

We Answered:

Yes, I believe that we (America) should begin to invest in a cleaner fuel. If we don't the weather will continue to get worse causing many humans to suffer from either the cold or the heat and not just will it effect us it will effect animal and plant life on a greater level then us humans.

Donald Said:

Why don’t we produce all of our energy using alternative renewable energy sources?

We Answered:

To start off, a lot of people like to turn on lights even when there is no wind turning the turbines and after sunset when the pv cell s go dead. And not everyone lives on top of a geothermal vent or next to an ocean tide generating station.

Jennie Said:

What are three reasons our government should invest in alternative/Renewable energy sources?

We Answered:

Reduce dependence on foreign fuel supplies
Reliable cost (eg you know how much it'll cost to install a solar panel, but you don't know the price of gas next year, or in 10 years...)
Reduced global warming

Reduced environmental damage in lots of other ways - don't need to blow up mountains to get at the coal, or take a look at the Niger delta to see oil extraction at work.

Also, except for biomass, they are low or zero air pollution electricity sources. Air pollution kills tens of thousands of Americans every year. A switch to pure renewable/nuclear electricity would save tens of thousands of American lives every year (in the UK deaths are something like 10,000/yr iirc?).
